Tari Prinster: A Cancer Survivor, Yoga Teacher, and Author

Tari Prinster is a cancer survivor, accomplished yoga teacher, and an author with a deep commitment to the well-being of cancer survivors. She is the visionary Founder of Yoga4Cancer, LLC (Y4C) and the Retreat Project, a nonprofit organization. Both entities are passionately dedicated to providing specialized yoga programs, including classes and retreats, tailored specifically to meet the unique needs of cancer survivors. Tari's mission extends further as she leads a comprehensive teacher training program, equipping yoga instructors with the skills to adapt various yoga styles effectively for the benefit of cancer patients and survivors.

In Tari's own words, she reflects on her personal journey with yoga and her battle with cancer: "At the age of fifty, I embarked on a yoga practice, driven by a hunch that it might alleviate the symptoms of menopause. To my delight, it not only succeeded in that regard but transformed my life. That pivotal moment occurred sixteen years ago, and today, I stand as a testament to the fact that it is never too late for change and improvement. Yoga breathed new life into me, rejuvenating my body and posture, enhancing my sleep quality, maintaining my weight, and fortifying my bones."

Tari Prinster discovered the immense power of yoga in managing the daily challenges presented by cancer treatments, along with the associated side effects and enduring vulnerabilities they impose. Beyond physical health, she found that yoga also provided invaluable emotional support and spiritual solace during her recovery journey.

Driven by curiosity, Tari delved into understanding why yoga had such a profound impact on her well-being. Her extensive research illuminated the reasons behind yoga's capacity to bolster the immune system, affording protection against the recurrence of cancer and offering a myriad of other health benefits.

This transformative journey unfolded fifteen years ago, at a time when yoga's therapeutic potential was not widely acknowledged. Since then, Tari Prinster has meticulously developed a structured system of yoga poses and sequences, each thoughtfully designed to cater to the specific needs of cancer survivors. This methodology forms the foundation of Yoga4Cancer's approach, exemplifying Tari's unwavering dedication to empowering and enhancing the lives of those affected by cancer through the healing art of yoga.
