From Jeffrey Slayter:

About Jeffrey

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I assume you're here because you'd like to get to know me on a deeper level, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share more about who I am with you.

My Early Years

I spent my formative years in Hawaii, attending school during my junior years. Back then, I struggled with spelling (and I still do), writing, and anything that didn't captivate my interest. I was eager to explore the world and have real experiences rather than sitting in a classroom being taught. As you can imagine, this made me feel different and not particularly bright.

So, what did I do? I focused on building strong relationships and forging numerous friendships, both with teachers and fellow students (although some teachers weren't too fond of me). Before long, I had a substantial support network that appreciated me for who I was, not just for what I knew. I loved it.

People and their happiness mattered to me.

During my youth, I did what many kids do ? I skipped school to go surfing and spent a lot of time just hanging out. However, there was a significant difference: I didn't drink or do drugs. I had witnessed the devastating impact of alcoholism and addiction on people's lives, and I chose a different path. In fact, one of my close friends tragically passed away due to alcohol poisoning, and that experience solidified my decision to steer clear of using alcohol to cope with life's challenges.

Opting not to drink in social situations meant that I had to learn to be comfortable in social settings without the crutch of alcohol. While others relied on alcohol to ease into new social situations, I chose not to. There's nothing inherently wrong with drinking; it just wasn't my thing.

I learned to embrace discomfort.

Don't get me wrong; I still had plenty of fun. I attended parties, raced cars, got into trouble, and lived a life filled with adventure. Looking back, I think I might have had a severe form of ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder); I couldn't stand boredom. Interestingly, later in life, I discovered that some of the most successful people, like Richard Branson, Robert Kiyosaki, and Charles Schwab, also had it. The upside? Having what I now call HDADD (Hyper-Driven ADD) became an asset because when I was genuinely interested in something, I could process vast amounts of information quickly.

"ADD is the new Focus." ? Jeffrey Slayter (spoken by someone with true ADD)

I had a hidden gift!

I remember always feeling a deep urge to create something meaningful. I enjoyed doing things for people and witnessing the joy on their faces. During junior high, I noticed long lines of kids waiting to buy candy and food from the school cafeteria.

Standing in line? Come on, we can do better than that!

I decided to take action. I went to a wholesaler that sold the same food products, purchased everything the cafeteria offered (and more), stored it in my locker, sold it at a lower price, and provided even more variety. Best of all, kids no longer had to wait in line to get what they wanted. I saved them both time and money. It was during this experience that I learned one of the most valuable lessons in business:

Make a profit.

"It's not what you make; it's what you keep." ? Jeffrey Slayter

My Upbringing

My father was an entrepreneur who started a business while we lived in Hawaii. Initially, it was financially challenging for our family. I distinctly remember my grandma bringing us mangoes to eat because my parents were struggling with maxed-out credit card debt.

However, my father never gave up on his business idea. He persevered by building relationships, understanding people's needs, taking care of them, and knowing that our family relied on him. Eventually, his idea was acquired and purchased by a public company, and our family went from barely getting by to experiencing what felt like overnight success. We moved to Silicon Valley, California, which is home to some of the biggest technology companies in the world.

Can you imagine?

I witnessed my father starting another company right on our kitchen table. Instead of delving deep into his savings, my father created value out of thin air by using the space between his ears. He literally turned ideas into reality. I watched as he raised over $50 million in venture capital funding over the years and learned an invaluable lesson:

If you can turn $0 into $1,000,000, then you can turn $1,000,000 into $10,000,000 or more.

"Wealth is held in your creativity." ? Jeffrey Slayter

Business was in my blood from an early age. I was eager to make deals, have fun, and bring smiles to people's faces.

My Early Professional Life

Before I could fully pursue my dreams, I needed to pay the bills, so like any young teenager starting out, I got a job at 19 years old. My dad encouraged me to find my own path. I worked with a kind and understanding entrepreneur who allowed me to use my spare time to research investment properties online.

During this period, I had a life-changing realization. While stuck in peak-hour traffic on the way to work, I observed the long lines of cars on the road ahead. I thought to myself, "There has to be a better way to live life than this." I was determined to escape the daily grind. It's amazing how motivating a sea of unhappy commuters can be.

It's not that I was dissatisfied with my job; I simply yearned
